A long, long time ago, there lived a cat. She spent her days watching over the street she lived on, waiting for the passer-bys to announce their love for her. The neighbours name here ‘orange cat’, otherwise known as cat. Orange cat knew she was the moment.

Orange cat enjoyed the thrill of being known and seen and she sure to perform for her admirers. She’d choose a spot in the sunlight to reflect her silky orange fur just right. She’d wait for  passer-by and, at the right moment, roll onto her belly: the perfect invitation. They’d approach her silly, making soft noises at her, and when their hands stretched towards her belly, she’d swiftly roll away, back to her feet. Oh, it was an art form itself.

With each passing day the orange cat fell more and more in love with the passerbys. But who would love her like she loved them? It seemed as if they came to love her but left with the love she gave them. Who would stay and give her their own love. Day after day the orange cat laid there, faces blurred and people passed, until one day the haze lifted and one face came into view. It was like looking in a mirror. The bubbly girl with fiery orange hair looked straight into the orange cat’s eyes. She didn’t touch but simply stared. Wonderment filled each of their eyes as a bond began to form.
